<p><a href="https://developers.cloudflare.com/artifacts/">Artifacts</a>, Cloudflare's versioned file system that speaks Git, is now in open beta. Artifacts is built for scale, so you can create a repository per project, user, session, or task.</p> <p>With Artifacts, you can:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Deploy repositories to Workers</strong> — Connect an Artifacts repository through <a href="https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/ci-cd/builds/git-integration/artifacts-integration/">Workers Builds</a>. Pushes to the production branch deploy the updated Worker, while other branches create or update <a href="https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/previews/">Worker Previews</a>.</li> <li><strong>Programmatically manage repositories</strong> — Use an <a href="https://developers.cloudflare.com/artifacts/api/workers-binding/">Artifacts binding</a> from a Worker to create or fork repos, inspect files and commits, read files by path, and issue repo-scoped Git tokens.</li> <li><strong>React to repository changes</strong> — <a href="https://developers.cloudflare.com/artifacts/guides/event-subscriptions/">Subscribe to events</a> when a repository is created, imported, forked, deleted, pushed to, cloned, or fetched.</li> <li><strong>Control where repository data is stored</strong> — Choose to <a href="https://developers.cloudflare.com/artifacts/guides/data-localization/">store and process</a> your data in the US or EU.</li> <li><strong>Monitor repository usage</strong> — View total operations, pulls, pushes, errors, and error rates in the Cloudflare dashboard or <a href="https://developers.cloudflare.com/artifacts/observability/metrics/">via API for analytics</a>.</li> </ul> <p>Artifacts is available for customers on the Workers Paid plan. Cloudflare will begin <a href="https://developers.cloudflare.com/artifacts/platform/pricing/">billing</a> for Artifacts on October 14, 2026.</p> <div tabindex="-1" class="heading-wrapper level-h4"><h4 id="build-the-next-github-on-cloudflare">Build the next GitHub on Cloudflare</h4><a class="anchor-link" href="#build-the-next-github-on-cloudflare"><span aria-hidden="true" class="anchor-icon"><svg width="16" height="16" viewBox="0 0 24 24"><path fill="currentcolor" d="m12.11 15.39-3.88 3.88a2.52 2.52 0 0 1-3.5 0 2.47 2.47 0 0 1 0-3.5l3.88-3.88a1 1 0 0 0-1.42-1.42l-3.88 3.89a4.48 4.48 0 0 0 6.33 6.33l3.89-3.88a1 1 0 1 0-1.42-1.42Zm8.58-12.08a4.49 4.49 0 0 0-6.33 0l-3.89 3.88a1 1 0 0 0 1.42 1.42l3.88-3.88a2.52 2.52 0 0 1 3.5 0 2.47 2.47 0 0 1 0 3.5l-3.88 3.88a1 1 0 1 0 1.42 1.42l3.88-3.89a4.49 4.49 0 0 0 0-6.33ZM8.83 15.17a1 1 0 0 0 1.1.22 1 1 0 0 0 .32-.22l4.92-4.92a1 1 0 0 0-1.42-1.42l-4.92 4.92a1 1 0 0 0 0 1.42Z"></path></svg></span></a></div> <p>We are hosting a competition to see who can build the next GitHub on Cloudflare using Workers and Artifacts.</p> <p><a href="https://www.cloudflare.com/git-competition/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Apply today<span class="external-link"> ↗︎</span></a> — submissions are open until October 14, 2026.</p> <p>The first-place team will receive $25,000 in Cloudflare credits.
